PHOENIX – More than 120 dogs and cats were rescued Tuesday after the
Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office served search warrants at two
locations in north Phoenix.
According to Sheriff Joe Arpaio, 61-year-old Diane Habener started a
rescue business called ‘Tuffies Rescue’ in 2004 with the intent to
provide shelter and adoption services to animals, which may otherwise
have been euthanized.
